Special phone lines set up

Wiltshire Police have opened special phone lines for anyone who has concerns or wishes to speak to us about issues arising from the news that a doctor in Royal Wootton Bassett has been charged with a number of sexual offences.

Earlier today (4 July) we confirmed that Davinder Jeet Bains, aged 45, of Swindon, a GP, has been arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault and voyeurism at Tinkers Lane Surgery in Royal Wootton Bassett, and one count of sexual assault and administering a noxious drug with intent to commit a sexual offence at his home address.

He appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday 16 June and was remanded in custody to reappear at Swindon Crown Court on Friday 6 July.
